Our company's tag line "Good Media Ideas" embodies what we try to do every day: advise our clients with good ideas on how to get the message of their brand out to the world via paid advertising. We have some projects we are working on now that are exciting challenges, causing us to leave no stone unturned seeking "wow-factor" creative ideas as we seek the proper media channels to promote them. I came across this month's Good Media Idea while going through this process and had to share.
The best media ideas reinforce the message of the creative just by the nature of what they are- and this idea definitely does that. It's Skywriting - yes by plane. And before you dismiss it as something ridiculous that only the Wicked Witch of the West would do, keep reading. This skywriting idea was executed by Cisco at the CES 2015 show in Las Vegas to promote - what else - a new product line in the cloud! What better way to draw attention at the biggest trade show in the Americas in arguably the busiest, most visually-stimulating city in America than to do something up in the sky. See video of the execution below.
Now we would not recommend this for any client because it certainly comes at a pretty penny (you have to pay to get the planes to your location from NYC or FL). But using clouds to promote the cloud - that's perfect!
